nyfw – unexpected trend
one of this years’ trends that I’m most excited about isΒ color blocking. I think it’s so fabulous to pair bold colors together in a contrasting way. I’m absolutely loving purple and pink together and for a rainy day in New York, a sweatshirt and maxi skirt became the ultimate combination.Β
this outfit wasn’t one that I had ‘pre planned’ for Fashion Week, but when cold weather came, my only sweatshirt I brought came in handy for an OOTD that IΒ unexpectedly loved. I actually saw a lot of women in feminine dresses or skirts and paired them up with edgier boots and oversized tops. the world of fashion isn’t always about being ‘sexy’ or ‘appealing’. style can be whatever you want it to be and so while this isn’t the most ‘flattering’ outfit, I still felt confident (and warm) lol. it’s good to dress practical right?!
New York has some of the coolest places for photos. I honestly feel jealous of those who live in cities whereΒ literally ANY spot is a good photo op. I feel like at home, I drive around -forever- looking for a fun place for pictures, and always settle for a colored/ white wall or somewhere with flowers. so it was definitely a change to have some ‘city’ looking photos. andΒ look .. I still managed to find some greenery lol I guess it’s the Utah girl in me that craves those mountains and trees.Β
I have been buying a lot of colorful pieces lately so I’mΒ sharing a few things I’ve found that are perfect for fall but still offer the bright hues of summer …Β
Rachel Parcell skirt // Wildflower sweatshirt // Bohme booties // Michael Kors bag
thank you so much for reading! I hope you had a fun weekend! September is already flying by and I can’t believe we are almost officially in ‘FALL’. do you have any fall traditions or activities you’re most excited for??? I’m excited to decorate ourΒ porch and for years (yes years) I’ve been wanting toΒ make a pretty wreath for my door, and this season I think will be the one where I actually make one. YAY!Β
