New Year’s Eve – little black dress

Happy New Year everyone!

I cannot even believe 2019 is ending. here we are at the end of not only a year but an entire DECADE. it feels so weird.

I’m excited to see what the future holds but being a 90’s baby I still find it CRAZY that I’ve been alive in not only 3 decades already but I lived in a different century!

I think it’s so fun to get dressed up and fancy but to be honest I just stay home, I’ve only ever been to one NYE party and I think I was 16 lol. as a family we usually stay in and play games, eat the best food and sometimes even go to bed before midnight (oops!)

how do you celebrate the new year??

I had a lot of fun playing with the confetti and star edits for these photos! I had these cute disco ornament balls and the neon heels but the edits really make these pictures so festive!

I wanted to showcase a look that was pretty, fun and practical. not everyone wants to be in a full sequin outfit on NYE (even though I totally do!) I opted for a new year’s eve black lace dress. most women have a black dress in their lives and I really like lace as a way to bring interest to an otherwise ‘standard’ black dress. below I’ll share a few pieces that I think are worthy of a good night out!

my exact dress is sold out at My Sister’s Closet and my heels are old from Kate Spade.

thank you for reading about this new year’s eve little black dress!

I’m SO THANKFUL for your support this year. for reading/watching/sharing/commenting/shopping it’s because of YOU that I’m able to make blogging my job.

in 2018 I had plans to make my blog more of a focus and to truly treat it like a job (before it had been more of hobby that occasionally brought in a bit of money). I’m proud to say that in ways I exceeded expectations and really did well at my goals that I had set for myself.

something I’m in need of remembering is that I am in control of myself. I am in charge of how I FEEL, REACT, THINK, etc. I can choose to have a good attitude, I can choose to get up early and work out, eat good food, read my scriptures and pray. I can choose which companies I work with, who I spend my time with and where I put my energy. it’s freeing to know that I can ultimately be happy or not based on my own attitude and efforts. this is certainly something I’ll be implementing and thinking of often.

I’m so stoked for 2020 and to see where we can take this little space I’ve created with Stripes in Bloom. I have big plans and am excited to put them into action. more on my goals and aspirations in another post coming soon!

if you’d like to check it out here’s my post with goals for 2019

xo, Jensyn
