spring trend : colored denim

I’m LIVING for color these days and a fun, bold pair of pants just seems to be the right thing to do this spring! I’m so excited about the next spring trend : colored denim.

I feel like I wore colored pants and jeans so much a few years ago (see here, and here) then it wasn’t very popular anymore .. well it’s BACK! so if you haven’t gotten rid of them all yet, pull them out of the depths of your drawers (mine are in a tote in my garage lol) and start wearing those colored jeans again!

here are a few pairs that I’ve got my eye on!

ACCENT WITH NEUTRALS

one of the easiest tips to styling colored jeans is to keep your top neutral. if you’re not used to wearing a lot of color mixed together, a neutral colored top (white, cream, tan, black, navy) are all going to be great options for a quick pulled together look.

I styled these gorgeous golden yellow jeans (similar here) with a sweatshirt that has tiny embroidered flowers with yellow centers (easily ties in the yellow) and decided to add a bit more color with my striped sneakers.

I found this particular pair of yellow pants on clearance at Target for like $11! I couldn’t pass them up! and these darling stripe sneakers are Rifle Paper Co for Keds – scored them at Nordstrom Rack for about $16!

below I’m sharing a few fun looks featuring colored pants! the outfits are playful, easy to wear and showcase a few examples of how I would style jeans for a variety of occasions.

DATE NIGHT

the purple top on the left with the pale green pants and neutral heel is a great option for date night out! I love the mix of color here and because the green is so muted, you could style it with basically any color of top.

GIRL’S BRUNCH

the middle look I played with the monochromatic trend, keeping it all pink. the wedges give this outfit a flirty look and I’d wear this out with girlfriends for sure!

FAMILY DAY

the look on the right with the yellow skinnies and stripe top are perfect for days out with the family, I added a neutral tennis shoe and baseball cap to keep the look practical and casual.

thank you so much for reading! I hope if you haven’t tried the spring trend : colored denim, that you will! it’s seriously SO fun and is a nice break from the typical ‘blue’ jean. I hope you’re all doing well!
