posing tips and the trendy color for spring

I’ll be sharing my posing tips and the trendy color for spring, you may find surprising. I don’t often reach for chartreuse as a color, but this adorable little top reminded me of something from Anthropologie and my friend’s shop ShopCurated is just too cute, I needed to feature it.

green is one of the hottest colors for spring and literally ANY shade is a good one according to fashion right now. blue is also having a major moment so this look with the two colors together is spring ready!

lol in the past couple years I haven’t worried too much about what was trendy and what wasn’t. I have chosen to wear things that I liked and what was flattering on me, whether it was ‘popular’ or not but when something I DO like falls into what IS trending, that’s a fun thing too.

posing is something I’m not particularly amazing at, but I have been getting some questions about it .. so I’ll share what I do.

I move around a lot.

I have my photographer (husband) take shots from different angles and heights too. you’ll notice we did some pictures head on to the wall, and others and slightly angled. some pictures we took slightly shooting up towards me – making my feet and legs appear longer.

hold a prop.

I try to do something with my hands, put them in my pocket, hold a purse, reach out for the sky or the wall, even my hair lol something so that they’re not just at my side.

my best posing tip?

don’t be afraid to just try something.

constantly switch poses, try something you’ve never done before. (I need to be better about this) but you never know when one pose will just click and be so so good. by changing up your poses and angles in your shoot you’ll get a huge variety of pictures to choose from. you’re bound to find a handful that you love!

be yourself

while I do look on Instagram and Pinterest for inspiration for poses, I have found that when I use images as simply that, ‘inspiration’ and I put my own spin on an idea, I end up loving it so much more. stay authentic to YOU.
