THE IT GIRL DENIM TRENDS OF 2024
Abercrombie denim is all the rage on instagram and I knew it had been a while since I ordered – with new denim trends coming in faster than ever I figured I’d try these popular styles in a brand that is known for their denim.
with Abercrombie being a denim brand that offers sizes extra short, short, regular and long and sizes 23 – 37 they are one of the most inclusive brands out there for jeans.
over the years I’ve been trying to figure out my style and also look for denim that I can wear through the years that feel good and make me feel on trend but still true to me – I’m excited to continue to fill my wardrobe with clothes I actually reach for and want to wear π
HIGH RISE 90’S RELAXED (medium marble)
I thought the fit of these felt very much like jeans I wore in the 90’s -which hello that’s what they’re called. haha. but I just didn’t feel in love. maybe I need them in a different wash because the color/speckling felt fake and cheap. I got these in a 25 short and as you can see they still barely skim the floor. I probably could’ve done a 26 in the waist for a bit more room (unless these stretch out as I wear them??? I’m not sure) they felt tight (not relaxed) but could’ve been because I needed to size up. I wear 25 in Levi’s and they’re perfect – it’s tricky shopping other brands because they all fit so different
my rating 7/10 – liked but probably would love in a different wash
ULTRA HIGH RISE 90’S STRAIGHT (medium)
again, with the 90’s fit. these being ‘straight’ and not relaxed they felt even more like a ‘skinny’ jean fit and would look cute with pointed toe boots or heels. these are my favorite of all the styles (I kept these!) – this wash is MUCH better than the pair I wore above. sizing here is a 25 extra short
my rating 9/10
ULTRA HIGH ANKLE STRAIGHT (medium destroy)
I hated these so much lol they felt like the worst capri’s ever! (I did accidentally order these in extra short though so that’s my fault) because they’re already an ankle style I would order either short or regular and not extra short next time. the fabric was stretchy (almost like leggings) and I expected them to be more like my ankle wedgie Levis (thick) – the slits were awkward too – didn’t love the way they hit at my thigh and not my knees. sizing these were tight in the waist – should’ve sized to a 26.
my rating 4/10
I wanted to love these! I think again with the sizing I just needed to go bigger. they’re tight in the waist and there is a lot of pulling in the front area lol Abercrombie offers a curve love style of each jean where there are an additional 2 inches in the bum/thigh area for when you’re a bit more curvy but I have heard mixed reviews on that too sooooo I think with these I’d just order a 26 and see how they fit.
my rating 7/10
LOW RISE BAGGY (medium raw hem)
okay obviously these are low rise and baggy so completely different fit but I did the 25 here and they actually feel good on my waist. I can pull the waist band out from my body a good couple inches lol so I’d probably wear a belt but I don’t think I’d size down here. I think the fit is cute and thankfully they’re not as low rise as jeans I wore in middle school. I got these in size short and I know with certain shoes they’ll totally drag but I think they’re cute and on trend – just struggling with which style of tops to pair with low rise??? lol can’t tuck anything!
my rating 8/10
HIGH RISE LOOSE (medium)
I felt like these jeans were the most comfortable – felt tight but not that I couldn’t breathe in the waist and I liked the comfy feel through the leg. so if you’re looking for a comfortable and on trend jean I’d recommend these π
my rating 8/10 (I just don’t know if they’re cute on the bum lol)
overall I feel disappointed in the jean selection, part of it was user error – I think I ordered the wrong size in some styles so once I size up and exchange I’ll see if I change my mind. the wash and fit of a few weren’t my favorite either but I was able to walk away from this haul with a couple new denim styles to update my wardrobe for 2024.
thanks for reading! have you tried Abercrombie denim? which fits are your favorite???
