.liebster award // 2nd edition.

I have been nominated for the Liebster Award by Jaclyn, her blog is Beauty and the Binky and also by Clarissa, her blog is Chic Love Affair, both of these lovelies have become good instagram friends and they nominated me for this fun award to bring awareness to newer bloggers and the writers behind them 🙂 I’ve actually been nominated for this award before, if you’re interested in reading it, click here 😉

{ it seems like a lot, but I’ve been tagged twice, so it kind of is, I understand if you don’t read it all 😉 }

I’ll start with Clarissa’s questions. 

1. What made you decide to start a blog?
I started my blog because I love fashion, and shopping, and everything that has to do with it! I wanted to share my love of putting together outfits 🙂 and hopefully inspire others to follow their dreams or how to pair their favorite tee in multiple ways to suit their lifestyle. 

2. Favorite color?
tough question… probably pink 🙂 overall. but right now I’m in love with burgundy 😉 hehehe

3. What do you never leave the house without?
my phone, my wallet, some form of lipstick or lipgloss 

4. Social Media Preference?
I love Instagram 😉 

5. Favorite type of music?
all… except rap. (sorry. not sorry)

6. If you won the lottery what would be your first purchase?
a house! 

7. Dream vacation?
rome, or someone tropical 🙂 

8. What are some common characteristics of your favorite bloggers?
fabulous fashion taste 😉 they’re women, and they’re utah / california based 

9. Favorite celebrity trendsetter?
I never look to celebs for anything, but when I do happen to see celebrities pictures, I tend to like Jessica Alba’s outfits 

10. Magazines or books?
uhm neither! 

11. Do you prefer online shopping or in store?
I LOVE online because I can literally shop anywhere from ANY retailer, I do enjoy in store, but that’s when I tend to buy more impulsively. 

Now for Jaclyn’s questions.

1. What is your favorite topic to read about on other blogs?
fashion / tutorials for hair or beauty 

2. How did you come up with the name of your blog?
I love stripes and floral prints both in fashion and home decor so Stripes in Bloom was born. the “in bloom” part represents growth too, and how I’m growing up and changing and becoming me (well more me)

3. What is your go-to staple clothing item?
probably a tee shirt 😉 wouldn’t you agree?? 

4. What is the 1, classic clothing item that every girl should own?
a pair of heels in your favorite color, nothing else makes me feel more glamorous and powerful

5. What is your favorite book?
totally don’t have one 

6. If you’re not a mom and hope to be sometime, what do you think will be the scariest part of having a little? (I shortened this question just a bit to suit me)
I’m afraid of the outside world’s influence on them 

7. What is your favorite item from your childhood?
it’s actually a scent, it’s burning wood 🙂 reminds me of my grandparents and I LOVE it! I wish I could capture the scent and put it in a scentsy or something … hahaha 

8. What is your favorite store?
probably Bohme, VS Pink or J.Crew 🙂 

9. Are you personal friends with any other bloggers?
yes with Tayler from Ginger Next Door 😉 

10. When is the last time that you did something for the first time?
I ate funeral potatoes last week 🙂 first time… liked them! 


10 facts about me
1- I am an early riser, I literally can’t sleep in
2- I switch shampoo and conditioner types every time I run out, because I get bored of the same kind. 
3- I love markers and sharpies 
4- I’ve recently started designing again (I used to sketch clothing all the time in HS and college)
5- I used to have a mohawk 😉 … for realz.
6- Stripes will be in every room in my future home 🙂
7- I really don’t like baking, but I love eating 
8- If I could I’d eat a soft pretzel every single day.
9- I have a really big heart for animals
10- I don’t like watching tv, only specifc shows.
