inspiring quotes on happiness + top tips for a happy outlook
this summer has been an interesting one – meaning that our heartstrings and minds have been pulled in a zillion directions and life has been flipped for a lot of us (not even including our own personal struggles) I wanted today to share inspiring quotes on happiness + top tips for a happy outlook because sometimes a happy thought is all I need to lift my spirits.
it can feel so daunting being home. honestly the last few months I’ve become more embarrassed at all the things I HAVEN’T accomplished. I felt like April and May everyone online was sharing their home improvement projects and how they were organizing everything. I unfortunately haven’t been the best at decluttering – so that’s still something I need to work on. but I DO know that I’m much happier in a clean house.
tips to help you feel more organized IN the HOME –
CLEAR OFF SURFACES – the table, the island, the dressers, etc.
PICK UP FLOOR – when I have the floor cleared (nothing stashed in corners) I feel so much happier and the space feels more organized
EVERYTHING IN IT’S PLACE – when papers are with papers, and toys are in bins, and dishes aren’t in the sink – home feels cleaner
MAKE THE BED – instantly my room looks put together – just by making the bed!
tips for feeling happier IN our MINDS –
BEING GRATEFUL – I know when I compare, complain, or judge I am NOT being grateful for the wonderful things in my own life
TAKE A BREAK – play with your kids, unwind with a funny movie, enjoy your favorite snack, play outside – do something fun aside from work
DO WHAT YOU LOVE – taking time for yourself and your interests helps A TON in feeling happy – take that time for YOU
GETTING READY – staying in the same pjs day in and day out doesn’t make anyone feel their best – take an opportunity to get dressed up in your favorite outfit and wear lipstick (or a fun accessory) whatever makes you FEEL fabulous – EVEN if you’re JUST staying home
FUEL YOUR BODY – when I work out/ go for runs/ dance and drink water and eat healthy meals – I am fueling with body with what it needs and I feel so much happier knowing I’m taking care of myself to complete the tasks that are ahead of me
with everything going on in the world – so much is out of our control I try to remember what I CAN control …
my attitude
my actions
my attention
how I show love, how I spend my time, how I treat others
I believe that our God is with us, in our hard and happy times. He sees us and we never have to be alone. I pray, I worship, I read/ study my scriptures. I try my best everyday to improve and be my BEST self. sometimes that looks like serving others, playing with my kids, focusing on my marriage, or simply washing my hair.
whatever phase you’re in today – know that YOU matter and that life can be happy – even when there is so much uncertainty in the world.
