HOW TO DIY A BOHO GIRLS BEDROOM
home projects have been on my mind and since we moved in a year ago we have had quite a few things get done which is something to feel excited about! this space for our daughter needed a refresh – I feel like when a room is styled and everything has a place the room stays cleaner (or at least that’s my hope here) so BIG shout out to my husband for going along with my vision for this room for how to diy a boho girls bedroom
this was our before —
bare walls, literally no decor or elements making this room extra special, this mirror I just didn’t know where else to put it so it got put in this room .. I’ve been eager to get all the girls rooms decorated and when the opportunity came along to work with Benjamin Moore paints I knew this space would be perfect!
I made this mock up design on the site canva and had fun with color – I knew that I wanted to incorporate a wood wall (tutorial coming) and a cute bookcase wall (tutorial coming) so once paint was chosen we got started
the wood wall is the largest wall in the room, I knew that this being the wall with the gorgeous rattan bed I wanted it to be a focal wall and with the art prints – this wall just pops!
the wood slats my husband had to trim to fit our 9 ft ceilings and we figured out how much spacing we wanted between each board – then he got to cutting and nailing. after filling in nail holes, we primed and painted – 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of paint
for the arch bookshelf wall I ordered these wood shelves online and ended up staining them a bit because the wood look it came with looked unfinished and it didn’t fit the space/ colors I was going for
the arch wasn’t that hard to paint (tutorial coming soon) and now she has a sweet little spot to read books. the footstool beanbag linked here and the little rainbow basket was a home goods find!
the light was something I definitely wanted to change from the boob light that was here originally – and I found this cute one for a great price! I love that it has some gold and the roping makes it feel boho
I didn’t edit the photos below so you could get a good idea of the natural coloring of everything – this paint color ‘chippendale rosetone’ is kind of peach/pink/brown and I am obsessed! it’s a GOOD boho pink and the blue/green shade ‘stratton blue’ is stunning – my husband really likes it and I might have him convinced that we can paint our walk in toilet room this color
all the bedding we have had for years but I wanted to share this pillow (it’s adorable) I think I need to add it to the room asap!
the art prints I found on Etsy, (big floral, words, daisies) and then I had them printed at a local shop – the frames were also a home goods find (about $16 each – which was a steal for 16×20!)
this rug is the softest EVER and with code JENSYN and this link you can get an additional % off shopping online – this rug has a subtle rainbow pattern and I loved that for this space
the pink wall hanging I found about a month ago and it’s been the inspiration for the color scheme for this cute boho girls bedroom (this neutral one is cute too)
we are so happy with how the space turned out and I’m eager to make all of our rooms feel special – tell me in the comments your favorite upgrade in this room! is it the wood slat wall? the arch bookcase moment? the light?
thanks for reading how to diy a boho girls bedroom! have a fabulous day!
