DECORATING YOUR KITCHEN TABLE FOR SPRING
yay for spring! I can feel it in the air – and I’m here to share with you how decorating your kitchen table for spring will bring some of that joy and brightness into your home.
first I want to showcase a set up I put together that I think would be just STUNNING for Easter and I’m here to remind you that a high end look is totally achievable for less.
EVERYTHING I linked in the below graphic is either from Amazon or Target and let me tell you – I WANT IT ALL. I’m such a fan of blush pink that I would use these gorgeous pieces all the time.
print mixing and matching is something I do often in my home and as nice as all neutrals are – it’s just not my style. I really have a passion for color and for patterns and prints. I’m a floral lover and I just can’t quit it. and to be honest, I really don’t want to change what I like either π
color scheme
I start with a color palette – in the kitchen table decor featured in the photos I chose yellows, pinks and neutrals (like black and white.) bringing in wood tones and whites as accents worked wonderfully for the colors to truly pop!
MacKenzie-Childs Courtly Check print and their gorgeous Flower Market designs are incredible and are well worth the investment – they’re pieces I’ll cherish and I love to bring them out to decorate with.
using a color scheme that fits the season will bring a festive look and you’ll be able to use the decorations year after year – even creating new combinations as seasons come and go (example using yellow for spring, summer AND fall)
texture
texture brings a lot of interest to a table – think of plants – flowers, branches, etc (faux or real)
I really love various fabrics and details such as shine, matte, translucent. is it glass? ceramic? wood?
if you ever feel you have a blank space to fill on your table, pop in a candle or something with a different shape or height, offering something new in your centerpiece.
impactful details
this might sound funny but when you’re looking to create a truly spectacular table setting go for the impactful details. I actually adore napkins and napkin rings – they totally elevate the table and to me they are an impactful detail that will set your table to the next level.
other impactful details could be glasses instead of plastic cups, placing the dinner plates WITH the salad or dessert plates, or even a place mat, charger for the plates.
I hope you enjoyed a few tips on decorating your kitchen table for spring! what’s your favorite season for hosting? or decorating?
I’m learning that even though we don’t entertain friends or family over very often that I can still make dinners special for my little family here at home and those memories will carry with my daughters. and that is so worth it to me.
