3 tips on how to style leopard print together

I absolutely LOVE mixing prints and today I’m giving 3 tips on how to style leopard print together! give me ALL THE LEOPARD PRINT. leopard is one of the BIGGEST trends right now, and I know you’ve probably heard a zillion people say it’s basically a neutral now – so there ya go. it’s a neutral. lol and with it being brown and black, and with how I’m wearing it in today’s post I’d say yes. it is a neutral.

what’s really funny is when you scroll down to the bottom of today’s post I’m sharing an all leopard outfit that I actually wore in New York during Fashion Week 2018. I tend to style things similarly so you’ll definitely see a repeat accessory! lol pops of pink are apparently really cute with leopard print

now for my 3 tips on styling leopard print together!

tip 1 pay attention to scale!

my best tip if you’re new to styling two prints together is to make sure the contrasting prints are different scales (or sizes). in this look my sweater is the larger scale print of leopard and my skirt is the smaller scale size. it isn’t until you look really closely that you even notice that the skirt is actually a print too. that’s why this look works so well together.

tip 2 think color!

keep the prints in the same color scheme. leopard print is usually an easy one because most prints are black, tan, brown or cream and they mix and match very easily together because they’re all neutral.

tip 3 don’t overdue the outfit.

let the print you’re wearing be the focal point and allow room for eyes to rest. meaning don’t be so jam packed with stuff on you, that you get lost in it all. you don’t want the outfit wearing you – YOU want to be wearing the outfit.

I personally feel like you can make a statement without each piece you’re wearing BE the statement piece. it’s okay to have the outfit shine and let your shoes and handbag be the supporting actresses in your look.

here’s my look from NYFW 2018 – I had a lot of fun with this outfit and honestly so many girls asked me if it were a jumpsuit. it’s just an easy tee and pants but because the prints are SO close to the same size/color I fooled everyone – so when mixing prints you don’t always have to make them different. sometimes the same works just as beautifully.
