10 SIMPLE WAYS TO SHOW SELF LOVE
this isn’t your typical ‘do a face mask’ or ‘shop til you drop’ advice post – even though I do mention a face mask. this is 10 simple ways to show self love! enjoy!!! remember you are loved!
1 speak kind words to yourself
I know when I’m judging and comparing myself to others and when I’m negative towards my body – I’m certainly not happy. changing this behavior to think positively towards myself helps me feel that self love
2 eat and drink to fuel your body
when I eat foods that give my body the nutrients it needs and I’m drinking plenty of water I feel happier. my skin is usually more clear and I physically feel better too (I definitely enjoy a treat but it’s not in every meal)
3 move your body
dancing, stretching, running – move your body! anything helps. I’ll even just go up and down the stairs a bunch of times carrying my toddler and THAT is a workout! getting my body moving rather than sitting around all day helps me to feel accomplished and I love how I feel after I get those endorphins
4 learn to rest
getting our girls to sleep every night at an earlier time has led to myself getting to sleep before 10 and it’s actually been so nice! I have learned that my body right now needs that extra sleep
this applies to working – I am ALWAYS working. running businesses from home – being my own boss is amazing BUT I need to learn when to take breaks and just live in the moment.
5 clean / organize
when I’m feeling so ‘blah’ I usually go clean or organize something – I feel accomplished AND something in the house got done! yay! decluttering can lead to feeling free. clear away ‘stuff’ that isn’t needed anymore
6 step away from media
I’ve fallen into the comparison trap and it’s awful. I also know that I can’t handle too much ‘news’, I get depressed really easily and those negative energies fall into other parts of my personal life. it’s better to know WHEN to step away from media
7 treat yourself to something you love
a face mask, a chocolate bar, a Netflix episode? do what you love! maybe you need a date night out or a phone call with a friend. doing something YOU want to do that makes you feel happy, is worth doing!

8 get outside
being in nature gets me off my phone, away from the ‘stuff’ and I can really focus on the love of our Creator and His beautiful world for us
9 name your blessings
when I’m feeling down, I try to look at the GOOD in my life. counting my blessings helps. I look at all the things going right instead of what’s going wrong, this helps me remember what I’m in control of too – my attitude and my effort
10 be patient with who you are becoming
I struggle somedays with my mental state, then I have really great days where I feel like I could take on anything. this life is all about personal development and what we contribute to others. learning to be patient with myself and my shortcomings is something I’m working on.
just know YOU ARE WORTH IT.
